Fasting

I know no one has their devotional yet (remember to pick yours up tonight), but I'm going to go ahead and post a reflection on today's devotion anyway.

What a start to our Lenten devotionals... Fasting is something that is so alien to our culture. We pretty much get what we need when we want it. Did you ever stop to think how fortunate and blessed you are to be able to do that? Probably not until just now, right? Hopefully as you fast during Lent, you can become more sensitive and aware of your own need for God. May our physical fasts point us in the direction of becoming more hungry for God!

Lent 2008

I'm excited about this year's Lenten journey. I hope this blog can be a creative way for us to stay in communication as we work through our Lenten Devotionals this year. If you haven't received your devotional yet, I will have some at tonight's Ash Wednesday Service that starts at the church at 6:30pm. I hope to see you there.
